Product Introduction
The M119A2 Red Bag is a high-zone propelling charge for 155 mm howitzers, designed as a single-piece (non-incremental) charge covering firing zones 7 (high) and 8. The red cloth bag colour denotes a high-performance propellant formulation optimised for extended range and higher chamber pressures. It is used to engage targets at longer ranges beyond the reach of the M4A2 white bag charges.
Together with the M4A2 White Bag (zones 3–7) and the M203 Red Bag (zone 8S maximum), the M119A2 completes the standard 155 mm propelling-charge family, giving artillery crews the full spectrum of firing zones for close, medium, and long-range fire missions.
The M119A2 is fully compatible with the standard family of 155 mm projectiles including the M107 HE round, M549 rocket-assisted projectile (RAP), and other NATO-standard 155 mm ammunition. It is used with M114, M198, M109 self-propelled howitzers, and other NATO-standard 155 mm systems.
