G.657.A2 is the ITU-T standard for enhanced-bend-loss single-mode fiber, tolerating a minimum bend radius as tight as 7.5 mm without significant attenuation increase. This makes it uniquely suited to the tight-radius spool geometries used inside compact drone dispensers, where the fiber pays out at high speed from a stationary reel as the drone or munition flies away from the operator.
